Tighe & Bond
Evolving an Established Identity
It was a pleasure working with the Tighe & Bond team, especially MB Jarosik and Keri Drake, on the evolution of their brand, alongside new and longtime collaborators including 43,000 Feet for brand strategy and content, photographer Tom Kates, and Michael Kuell for video production and editing.

Tighe & Bond's story began in 1911, and over more than a century, the firm has built a reputation for quality, expertise, and a commitment to excellence across engineering, design, and environmental consulting. Like the infrastructure the firm designs, even the strongest systems require thoughtful maintenance and evolution over time.

The goal was not to reinvent Tighe & Bond, but to carefully evolve an identity that had served the firm well for many years. The refreshed brand maintains recognition of the established name while creating a more distinctive, contemporary, and cohesive system-one that better reflects who Tighe & Bond is today and positions the firm for its next 100 years.

Building a Flexible Brand System
The refreshed identity centers on a bold, compact wordmark supported by a clear typographic, color system. Careful attention was given to the relationship between the letterforms and ampersand, creating a more balanced and recognizable mark with the flexibility to perform across a wide range of scales and applications.

A defined palette of deep blue, bright blue, and orange extends the identity beyond the logo and builds on colors already associated with the firm. Together with typography and supporting graphic elements, the palette creates a flexible toolkit for establishing hierarchy, contrast, and consistency across digital, print, environmental, and internal communications.

Designed for Every Environment
The identity was developed to work across the many environments in which the Tighe & Bond brand appears: from presentations, proposals, and printed materials to signage, apparel, safety equipment, vehicles, and other field applications. Maintaining clarity and recognition at dramatically different scales was essential, allowing the system to remain consistent whether applied to a small business card or a highly visible piece of workwear.

The broader visual system extends across a family of branded materials, using scale, typography, color, photography, and graphic elements to create continuity between touchpoints. Rather than treating each application independently, the system provides a shared visual language while allowing individual pieces to respond to their particular audience, environment, and purpose.
